Joanne P. Stratton Library in Marietta will close on September 15 for renovations expected to last until early 2026. The project, funded by the county’s 2022 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) with a budget of $500,000, will add two study rooms, improved community meeting spaces, upgraded staff work areas, and new furniture, carpet, and paint.

According to the Cobb County website, the library, located at 1100 Powder Springs Road, has served the community for more than 50 years. While closed, visitors can use nearby branches, including Charles D. Switzer Library at 266 Roswell Street and Sibley Library at 1539 South Cobb Drive, for public computers, materials, and programs.

During the renovation, Stratton’s book drop will not be available, but holds may be placed for pickup at Switzer or Sibley. Staff from Stratton will be temporarily reassigned to other Cobb library branches.

Updates on the renovation and ongoing services will be provided on the Cobb County library website.
