According to NBC Miami, the fire was reported at a commercial auto warehouse located on the 7500 block of Northwest 82nd Place. Rescue teams faced heavy smoke and a rapidly spreading inferno, prompting the dispatch of 30 units to grapple with the emergency.
The blaze, whose ferocity warranted an upgrade to a third-alarm fire, saw firefighters mount a defensive operation after a portion of the warehouse's roof gave way amidst the chaos. As detailed by Local10, the warehouse stored combustible items such as auto parts, mechanical equipment, tires, and fuel containers, posing additional risks. A cellphone video obtained by sources captured the visual severity of the situation with tires visibly burning and dark smoke escalating into the sky.
Despite the intensity and potential danger of the fire, no injuries were reported. Fire officials and rescue crews conducted an effective evacuation of the warehouse, ensuring that all workers were safely removed from the premises. MDFR spokesperson Erica Benitez told Local10, "Everyone was evacuated safely. We don’t have the number yet of how many were evacuated," indicating a prompt and successful response to the immediate threat to human life.
