
A tragic incident unfolded on the streets of Miami Beach this morning, resulting in the death of an electric scooter rider following a collision with a car. According to NBC Miami, the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. near the intersection of 11th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Police said the scooter operator was taken in critical condition to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where they later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The aftermath of the accident was captured from above by Chopper 6, revealing the scene cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape. On the ground lay a Mercedes with a shattered windshield, and an object identified as the scooter was seen lodged under the front of the vehicle. Miami Beach Police have yet to release the identity of the victim who perished. The driver, meanwhile, remained at the scene to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation, officials said.
Local 10 News reported further that Miami Beach police are actively investigating this fatal encounter.
