Residents of Miami-Dade's District 6 have a fresh reason to enjoy the sands and waves, thanks to the newly launched Free Beach Day program. Spearheaded by County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis and her municipal counterpart, City of Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez, the initiative promises to effortlessly whisk locals from the bustle of daily life to the serenity of the sea. "The beach is one of our community’s greatest treasures, and I want our families to enjoy it affordably," Milian Orbis stated in a press release from Miami-Dade's official website.

The program bestows upon District 6 dwellers complimentary vouchers, complete with two lounge chairs and an umbrella, to ensure a shaded, comfortable beach experience. They are to easily redeem these tokens of leisure at two prime locations on Ocean Drive, detailed in the county's announcement. Vouchers are currently up for grabs, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adding to this coastal generosity, the City of Miami Beach is further sweetening the deal with discounted parking. Until the end of September 2025, beachgoers using the PayByPhone or ParkMobile apps can secure municipal parking at a rate reduced by $1 per hour.

Locals can pick up free beach day vouchers at the District 6 office. Commissioner Milian Orbis encourages families to take part in the program, which aims to make beach outings more accessible and enhance quality of life for Miami-Dade residents. For more information or to claim a voucher, residents can contact the office by phone or email.
