The Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County is welcoming a new Director of Development, Andre Bogsan, whose expertise in donor engagement and fundraising strategies is anticipated to play a pivotal role in the nonprofit's future endeavors, this appointment was announced in a statement made public by the Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden. Bogsan, a veteran in the nonprofit sector with a strong background in advancing the missions of organizations globally, steps into this role with the aim of fortifying the garden's philanthropic relationships and supporting its growth, as reported in the statement.
Executive Director James May expressed his excitement about the new hire, stating, "His expertise in donor engagement, grant strategies and fundraising will be instrumental in advancing our mission and ensuring the garden's continued growth and sustainability," and Bogsan, for his part, is set to lead the charge on initiatives that will enhance the botanical garden's offerings sharpen its cultural and horticultural significance for the community, and the visitors. “Our Master Plan vision is for a Mounts Botanical Garden that is bolder, more welcoming and more sustainable—without ever losing the magic of what makes this place special. We envision Mounts to be the go-to destination to discover, enjoy and be moved by nature," May added in his enthusiasm over the garden's long-term strategy, as noted by the county's news release.
Andre Bogsan brings to the table a diverse portfolio with more than 20 years of experience in institutional advancement, with tenures at notable organizations such as Greenpeace International, The Nature Conservancy, and La Amistad, where he was responsible for managing significant fundraising initiatives and developing key donor relationships. His career has spanned various regions, including Latin America, the United States, and Europe, and he has also founded a social impact agency in Brazil, achieving success in creating purpose-driven campaigns for globally recognized charities like UNICEF, Save the Children, and Plan International.
Bogsan's addition to the team is fuelled by a steadfast commitment to the garden's mission, as he stated in his declaration, "I am honored to join Mounts Botanical Garden and help advance its mission to nurture meaningful connections with nature through immersive experiences and educational offerings," he recognizes the importance of engaging the local community and broader support network to ensure the sustainability of this iconic location, Bogsan is fluent in multiple languages including English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and is expected to bring this global insight and operational expertise to the gardens in Palm Beach County, according to the same release.
