A Nashville man with a history of domestic violence is now facing charges in the murder of his girlfriend. Jared Streich, a 40-year-old suspended lawyer, has been charged with the domestic-related murder of 46-year-old Miranda Gray, as reported by WSMV. Gray's body was found in her apartment on Hermitage Park Drive, and an autopsy confirmed the cause of death was strangulation.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Streich had violated bond conditions which arose from a prior aggravated assault arrest in February, in which he allegedly threatened Gray with a knife. Despite being instructed to avoid Gray's residence, returning repeatedly to the apartment led to his arrest on multiple occasions. The bond violation was noted the bond condition violation was on the night of Monday, which was promptly set at $75,000, as reported by Fox17.

Streich's arrest late Monday night follows a call he made to 911 earlier that day, reporting Gray as being unresponsive. When officers arrived, Streich was asked how long she had been in that state, to which he did not answer, according to WKRN. Multiple previous incidents included charges of aggravated assault, all of which were dropped on various dates.

Further complicating the grim narrative, Streich had been taken into custody several times throughout the year for domestic violence-related charges, including an incident on July 20 when he allegedly cut Gray's wrist with a knife. While Gray had spoken with the District Attorney's Office about prosecution and was considering seeking an order of protection and counseling, according to WSMV, in subsequent contacts, she declined these support services.

The MNPD is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding Gray's death.
