A fatal shooting in Nashville's Century Farms has caught the attention of Metro Nashville Police as they delve into a case which may involve self-defense. Yesterday morning, 22-year-old Jerrion Phillips was fatally wounded outside an apartment on Century Farms Parkway, a situation that developed out of a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, as reported by FOX 17.

The incident escalated when Phillips, after leaving, returned to the apartment and was confronted by a 23-year-old male resident, who attempted to intervene. According to WKRN, the confrontation led to Phillips restraining a young man, which in turn resulted in the 23-year-old shooting Phillips. The victim was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Both the shooter and Phillips' ex-girlfriend were brought in for interviews at MNPD Headquarters. As of now, no charges have been filed against the 23-year-old, with the shooting still under investigation for potential self-defense motives. The information was corroborated by a statement obtained by WSMV, which also detailed the police's ongoing probe into the circumstances of the shooting.

The acts of violence didn't stop there for Nashville, as the day carried on to witness more shootings, one of which occurred along Antioch Pike, where a man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. This shooting, as per police, was believed to be an isolated incident, with no immediate threat posed to the community. The search for the suspect is ongoing, with K-9 units dispatched to aid in the pursuit.
