
Emergency services were quick to respond today to a partial roof collapse at a building near Miami International Airport, with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirming their presence at the scene on Northwest 72nd Avenue. Details about the cause of the incident remained unclear as teams began their initial assessment and search operations, as reported by NBC Miami.
According to Local 10, the collapse occurred at National Airport Services, situated at 1955 NW 72nd Ave, crews were dispatched to the location around 1:30 p.m., and upon arrival they requested the support of K-9 search dogs from the Urban Search and Rescue Team to ensure no individuals were trapped beneath the debris they also worked to account for all personnel who had been in the building prior to the collapse.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and all individuals inside the structure at the time were accounted for and safely evacuated. "Fire crews remain on scene awaiting a structural engineer who will assess the integrity of the structure," said an MDFR spokesperson in a statement obtained by Local 10.
