Palm Beach County, in partnership with the Elevar Foundation, will host the Journey of American Jazz event on September 18. The free program, set for 7 to 8 p.m. at the CMAA Therapeutic Recreation Complex, 2728 Lake Worth Road in Lake Worth, will showcase the rich history and sounds of American jazz.
Audiences can look forward to a performance by the renowned Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra, joined by jazz vocalist Ja’Nia Harden, as they present a program that highlights classic Americana. According to a press release from Palm Beach County, the ensemble will bring to life pieces preserved in archives across the country, including selections from the Library of Congress. The program will feature jazz standards made famous by legends such as Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, along with beloved Latin classics like “Bésame Mucho.”
The event goes beyond a traditional concert experience. Following the performance, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the musicians, ask questions, and share their appreciation. Light refreshments will also be provided, as noted in the official announcement.
