Residents of Pembroke Pines looking to rid their homes of potentially dangerous waste have a date to mark on their calendars. In an initiative to keep neighborhoods safe and clean, the City has teamed up with Republic Services to provide a quarterly hazardous waste disposal event. The forthcoming opportunity for locals to dispose of such materials will take place at the City's wastewater treatment plant on September 6, located at 13975 Pembroke Road, as per the city's announcement.
The event, open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, is exclusive to those living within the city limits. All who are interested in participating must bring proof of Pembroke Pines residency. Items like paints, chemicals, and electronic waste will be accepted, but participants should visit the official City of Pembroke Pines website for details on accepted materials. Additionally, worn-out batteries, as well as CFL bulbs, which contain environmentally harmful substances, can be discarded responsibly at the collection site.
For further information regarding the event, contact numbers have been released. Anyone with questions can simply dial 954-518-9000 to obtain more details about the upcoming hazardous waste drop-off event.
