Red Bull is making a splash in Altamonte Springs with an innovative sporting event that's part bike race, part aquatic adventure. The Red Bull Tandem Roller Coaster, widely popular in Europe, is rolling into the United States, landing at Cranes Roost Park on September 27th. The event, which has caught the attention of 30,000 expected spectators, pairs teams of two in a battle of creativity, showmanship, and speed on a tandem bicycle obstacle course—complete with the risk of dipping into the water with any false move.
In partnership with the City of Altamonte Springs and Seminole County, the high-octane event is set to begin at noon and conclude by 3 p.m., inviting local teams to submit their wildest bicycle designs by August 15th. As reported by ClickOrlando, Red Bull Athlete Guenther Oka succinctly describes the challenge: "To get your bike from point A to point B without falling into the water seems to be what's going to get that person the first-place prize, but I think along the way we’re going to have some funny spills and definitely some good times."
