Commuters and residents in the Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale area should prepare for minor disruptions as improvements aimed at ensuring smoother and safer travel move forward. Broward County's Public Works' Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division is set to roll out drainage system maintenance along NE 10th Street/NE 7th Avenue, from South Federal Highway to Eller Drive, affecting both Dania Beach and Fort Lauderdale areas.
Starting Monday, September 15, this essential initiative, funded by gas tax dollars, aims to thoroughly clean and inspect the drainage infrastructure, and to also make necessary point repairs. According to the county's official announcement, barring any unexpected hitches or weather hiccups, the work should wrap by December of the same year. Commuters should prepare to maneuver slowly around the shoulder closures or, occasionally, to yield to the flagmen set to efficiently but surely guide traffic during the less hectic off-peak hours. Throughout this period, residents can take solace in knowing that full accessibility to their driveways and sidewalks will be maintained.
