
Earlier today, the San Francisco Fire Department responded to an incident in the Mission District. A car had struck a building on the corner of San Jose and 24th Street, knocking over a fire hydrant, according to the San Francisco Fire Department’s Instagram post. The collision involved a fire hydrant getting knocked over.
Responders worked swiftly to get the situation under control, shutting off the water to prevent possible flooding in the area. In an event that could easily have spiraled into substantial chaos, the firefighters and police officers present managed to contain the situation quickly and begin to investigate the causes of the crash. No injuries were reported in this incident, though the building did suffer minor structural damage.
