
Colma Police have reported the arrest of a 21-year-old San Francisco resident, Alexander Lopezcorado, following a shoplifting incident on July 26 at a Target store in Colma. The arrest came after a brief foot chase when police officers responded to a theft report at the retail location. According to the Colma Police Department, Lopezcorado was caught concealing merchandise valued at $282.25 inside a bag before attempting to flee the scene.
Officers arrived at the Target, 5001 Junipero Serra Boulevard, around 2:05 PM to find the suspect exiting the store. Despite the officers' attempts to detain him, Lopezcorado chose to run quickly, leading to a short foot pursuit. The police managed to detain the suspect without further complications.
The incident, which was highlighted in the police department’s social media segment dubbed "Misdemeanor Monday," resulted in Lopezcorado facing charges for shoplifting, obstructing, and resisting a police officer. The department detailed the events leading to Lopezcorado's arrest and subsequent booking into the San Mateo County Jail.
