Playground enthusiasts in Davie will have to take a temporary detour from their usual haunt at Shenandoah Park's southern playground. Announced by the town's official notice, the playground located at 14601 SW 14th Street will be closed from September 2 to September 17 for essential repairs and maintenance, ensuring the space remains a safe and inviting place for families and children to enjoy.
The Town of Davie is offering alternative recreational options, directing residents to nearby Liberty Park at 13500 SW 8th Street, Oakhill Equestrian Park at 3100 SW 130th Avenue, and Owls Lookout Park at 2600 South Flamingo Road. These parks provide opportunities for outdoor fun and play for visitors of all ages.
Operating hours vary across town parks, playgrounds, and restrooms. Driftwood, Shenandoah, Waterford, and Waverly Parks close at 9 p.m., while Pine Island Park and Bamford Sports Complex remain open until 10 p.m.
For Davie residents and visitors alike, the temporary closure might stir up a minor fuss, but rest assured, as the Town officials assured in their announcement, "The safety of our visitors is our utmost priority." In the meantime, for any questions or additional information, park-goers can contact the Davie Park Rangers at 954-275-8504.
For more information on this temporary inconvenience, residents can contact the Town of Davie’s media team. Leona Henry, Development Administrator; Ariana Briceño, Public Relations Coordinator; and Camryn Tippetts, Public Relations Assistant, are available by phone or email to provide updates and assist with inquiries.
