Washington County Sheriff's Office is deepening its investigation after gruesome findings in the Tualatin River came to light following a kayaker's unsettling discovery of human body parts, a case that has since stirred local concern and prompted an extensive search operation. In an update provided by the Sheriff's Office, it was confirmed that the first body part was found at around 5:09 p.m. last Friday, near Rood Bridge Park in Hillsboro.
The Major Crimes Team (MCT) from Washington County is now spearheading the probe, with search efforts intensified after a second body part emerged last Saturday, the sight of which has undoubtedly shaken the community, but officials have restrained from unveiling further details to protect the integrity of their ongoing work. According to the official news release, the Medical Examiner's office is currently tasked with the grim analysis to determine the cause and manner of death, for which we still await conclusive findings.
The entire undertaking has rallied various units to the riverside; the Clackamas and Columbia County Sheriff's Offices have contributed their marine units, K9 teams, a dive team, and ground searchers to aid the Washington County officials.
