Somos Peoria will return on September 27 from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Centennial Plaza. The event takes place during Hispanic Heritage Month and will feature Latin music, food, and cultural activities, according to the City of Peoria.

The City of Peoria, in partnership with Arvizu Advertising, has launched the Peoria Shines Band Contest to feature emerging Latin musicians. Funded through Play Peoria donations, the contest winner will receive a $350 honorarium and a 20–25-minute performance slot to open the evening’s entertainment. Submissions are open until August 15, with more information available at peoriaaz.gov.

The City of Peoria will host ¡Somos Peoria! to mark Hispanic Heritage Month with performances by Color Me Badd, Las Calakas, and Prime Society, along with traditional Mexican folk dances by Ballet Folklorico. Pre-sale tickets are $10 online and $15 at the gate. Event details, including the full schedule, are available on the City’s event page. Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are available by contacting Ernestina P. Arvizu at 602-790-6605.
