
A statewide search is underway for a missing 1-year-old boy, Ashton Franklin, who disappeared from the outskirts of Speedwell, Tennessee. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued an Endangered Child Alert, calling for public assistance to help locate the young child.
The alert was disseminated through social media, with the TBI's Facebook page detailing Ashton's physical description. At 2 feet 6 inches and weighing 20 pounds, he has brown hair and brown eyes. Last seen with his biological mother, Christine Franklin, near Berry Hollow Road, the urgency of finding them presses on the community's consciousness. The 30-year-old mother has brown hair and hazel eyes and was seen wearing an oversized gray T-shirt and pink shorts at the time of their disappearance.
Authorities are exploring all avenues as they comb through leads and tips from the community. Heading the operation, the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ashton or Christine to come forward.
