The Florida League of Mayors (FLM), a platform created by the state's own city leaders, has unveiled the winners of its 2025 Mayors Municipal Innovation Awards. The City of Tamarac emerged as a standout, snagging the Service Delivery Improvement Award for their innovative Transforming Municipal Service Delivery project. The awards aim to cast a spotlight on forward-thinking initiatives that elevate city governance and enrich citizens' day-to-day life, according to the City of Tamarac press release.

"The Mayors Municipal Innovation Awards recognize the bold ideas and smart solutions that move our communities forward," FLM President and Mayor of Daytona Beach Shores, Nancy Miller, stated. With an innovative approach, Tamarac has managed to claim the exclusive honor of winning an award three years in succession, according to a statement from the city's website. The previous accolades include the Tamarac Pet Pantry in 2023, followed by the Shine Tamarac Campaign in 2024.

On August 13, a ceremony will be held during the Florida League of Mayors' Annual Membership/Business Meeting to bestow the honors on the victors in conjunction with the Florida League of Cities’ Annual Conference. Among other recipients of the 2025 Mayors Municipal Innovation Awards are the City of Belle Glade for their Home Rehabilitation Program, Lake Alfred acknowledged for the CRA Residential Façade Grant Program, and Punta Gorda celebrated for their Innovation in a Time of Recovery Project. Unity in the Community Day Project fetched the City of South Bay their own Quality of Life Award.

More details regarding the Mayors Municipal Innovation Awards and the victorious projects can be found on the FLM's website.
