
A tragic accident occurring on Hobson Pike and Smith Springs Parkway in Nashville has claimed the life of a 17-year-old riding an ATV. According to WSMV, Darryl Anthony succumbed to his injuries suffered during the crash that happened last Monday, August 11. The Metro Nashville Police Department reported that Anthony, along with a 16-year-old passenger, hit a Dodge Durango when he allegedly ran a red light.
Further details from FOX 17 confirm that the collision was severe enough to fatally wound Anthony, while his passenger walked away with non-life-threatening injuries. It has also been reported that neither of the teens were wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The occupants of the SUV did not require hospital transportation.
Despite immediate transport to Vanderbilt Pediatrics, Anthony's injuries proved to be fatal, as reported by The Tennessean. The crash investigation revealed that the Dodge Durango was making a lawful left-hand turn, with a green arrow light, when Anthony's ATV entered the intersection against a red signal and collided with the vehicle.
