
An 18-year-old passenger lost their life, and a 19-year-old driver sustained injuries in a car accident in Clark County yesterday, according to local authorities. The Clark County Sheriff's Office reported that the vehicle was traveling east on Northeast Reilly Road when it veered off the road and collided with a tree, as confirmed in a statement obtained by KPTV.
According to the same source, the sheriff's deputies arrived shortly after midnight following a 911 call about a passenger in the car being unconscious. Despite deputies immediately starting CPR upon their arrival, the teenage passenger died at the scene. The 19-year-old driver, injured when the car struck the tree, was quickly taken to the hospital.
The crash occurred on Northeast Reilly Road near Northeast 284th Avenue, north of Camas. The Columbian reports that the 911 caller reported an unresponsive passenger, leading to deputies performing emergency procedures. The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by the authorities who are continuing to investigate the factors contributing to the fatal incident.
No information has been released about the condition that the driver was in.
