A 17-year-old girl was injured following a shooting incident at a party held in a short-term rental home in the 6500 block of Minnesota. The event, which unfolded in the early hours of August 3, saw the teenager sustaining a gunshot wound to the knee, as the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported.
According to the SLMPD update, a large fight broke out in front of the property around 2:00 a.m., whereupon several shots were fired and amidst the ensuing chaos the girl, who was departing the gathering, realized that she had been hit. In an attempt to secure help, she managed to drive herself back to her residence and it was only then that Emergency Medical Services were alerted to her condition.
The victim was subsequently taken to the hospital, where she is reported to be in stable condition. The nature of the altercation that led to the shooting is still under investigation, and authorities have yet to release details on any suspects or motives related to the incident.
