
A Tennessee man, Francisco Volinski, age 36, is facing a murder charge after allegedly shooting Dorian Holt, 38, in a Lyndhurst garage. The Lyndhurst Police Department, led by Chief Patrick Rhode, reported that the incident transpired following an altercation on South Sedgewick Road around 7:15 p.m. last Friday, Cleveland19 revealed. According to the reports, after the argument escalated, Volinski fled the scene, and with the aid of the U.S. Marshals, was apprehended hours later in Cincinnati.
Upon the police officers' arrival to the home following a 911 call, they found Holt suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, stated a press release. After emergency care was administered at the scene, the victim was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in critical condition, where, unfortunately, the officers found him lying on the floor of the garage, and despite efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries. As FOX8 News reported, the precise reason behind the argument has yet to be disclosed by the authorities.
Volinski, hailing from La Vergne, Tennessee, was formally charged with murder in the Lyndhurst Municipal Court, according to the local police. The judge has set a $1 million bond for Volinski, and he has entered a plea of not guilty in the preliminary hearing. The case has now been turned over to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury for further proceedings, as per the details shared by Cleveland19.
Following a pursuit involving the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the suspect was captured near Cincinnati, as detailed by Chief Rhode. The extensive investigation into the murder is ongoing, with the Lyndhurst Police Detective Bureau leading, and assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. "Preliminary information indicates that the victim was shot by a known male acquaintance following an argument that occurred in the victim's garage," in a statement obtained by Cleveland.com.
