Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic single-vehicle collision near the Utah-Idaho border, FOX 13 reports. Cache County Sheriff's deputies discovered the scene early Tuesday morning near North Valley Landfill at 14200 Stink Creek Road in Clarkson, where a man and a woman were determined to have been ejected from their vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
Investigations by the sheriff's office have pointed towards possible impairment: several open containers were found in the crashed vehicle, indicating alcohol might have played a role in the incident. KSLTV shared that the identities of the deceased have not been released. In a moment of remembrance and caution, Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi expressed, "Our sincerest condolences go out to the families of those involved in this tragic incident."
Further exacerbating the tragedy, deputies have identified additional factors likely contributing to the fatal outcome, including excessive speed and failure to use seatbelts. This serves as a grave reminder of the potential consequences of negligence on the road.
