A 69-year-old man was rescued last Friday by a U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Air Station Miami crew. He was found experiencing stroke-like symptoms aboard a tanker vessel, as per reports by WPBF.
The process involved the helicopter crew performing a hoist to quickly and safely bring the man on board. According to CBS12, the rescue took place eight miles off the coast, where the helicopter team successfully completed the operation.
Details regarding the man’s initial medical condition aboard the tanker are limited. Following the hoist, the individual was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
