West Palm Beach motorists, brace yourselves for more road work delays. Due to urgent water main repairs, Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) has shut down both lanes of Davis Rd. between Summit Blvd. and Forest Hill Blvd., with work taking place north of the Forest Hill intersection. This closure is expected to last until further notice, according to a public notice issued by Palm Beach County.

Detours have been put in place to redirect southbound and northbound traffic approaching Davis Rd. The closure directly impacts commuters using this route; however, local residents will still be able to access their homes during this period. Traffic control devices and signs have been deployed to guide drivers around the construction zone.

Beth Motschenbacher, Public Information Manager for PBCWUD, highlighted in a statement that the department's crews would be present on-site for the duration of the project. In an effort to minimize disruptions, PBCWUD has made it known that they anticipate "minimal interruption of water and wastewater services to area residents and businesses." Commuters are nevertheless encouraged to seek alternative routes to avoid the construction area. The department expresses its regrets for any inconvenience caused. It stated, "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the community for patience and understanding as we complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible," as mentioned on the county's official website.
