
Maximino Rivera, a 42-year-old man from Westchester, Illinois, has been charged in a DUI accident that resulted in one death and bodily harm to another individual. The Chicago Police Department, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, apprehended Rivera on August 13, 2025, as reported by the Chicago Police Department's news release.
Details released by the department reveal an incident on March 8, 2025, where Rivera was driving under the influence in the 1500 block of N. Central Ave. It was there, in the heart of the 25th District, that his vehicle collided with another, causing injury to a 59-year-old male, and the death of a 41-year-old male passenger in Rivera's car. The man now faces one count of aggravated DUI/accident/death, another for aggravated DUI/accident/bodily harm, and additional traffic citations for disobeying a traffic control device and failing to reduce speed.
The charges will be processed at a detention hearing scheduled for the same day of Rivera's arrest at 2600 S. California. No further details pertaining to the case or the detention hearing have been made public at this time, after the arrest that took place in the 1700 block of S. State St.
