A fatal traffic accident that occurred on Monday night in University City has claimed the life of a 31-year-old woman. The collision involved a pedestrian and a Volkswagen Jetta on La Jolla Village Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Based on details provided by the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 9:15 PM in the 4300 block of La Jolla Village Drive. The woman was walking southbound in the eastbound lane when she was struck by the vehicle. She was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The driver, also 31 years old, was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. Traffic Division officers are handling the ongoing investigation.
