On Tuesday, a 34-year-old man was found with fatal injuries in an El Cajon apartment complex. Responding to a reported assault with a deadly weapon, deputies from the Lakeside Sheriff's Substation discovered the victim at approximately 1:35 a.m. inside an apartment at 425 E. Bradley Avenue, as per the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
The victim, later identified as Cory Alexander Desarno, was attended to by the deputies who immediately began CPR, followed by paramedics who took over lifesaving efforts. Despite their efforts, Mr. Desarno was pronounced dead at the scene. Currently, the San Diego Sheriff's Homicide Unit is spearheading the investigation into the homicide.
