
A 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after a near-drowning incident in a lake within the Villas on The Green community in Margate, Broward County. The episode occurred on Sunday evening and was first reported by WSVN. A vigilant neighbor, whose quick actions were to dramatically save the child’s life, initially found and pulled the boy from the water before administering CPR.
As per the information provided by the Margate Fire Rescue and relayed by Local 10, the emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene at 3151 Holiday Springs Boulevard following the call for help. Upon their arrival, the first responders took over the life-saving efforts and transported the young boy to Broward Health Coral Springs. It was noted that the child was breathing and had a pulse upon departure.
The boy was later identified to be in critical condition yesterday afternoon. The details regarding how the child came to be in the lake are still not clear. According to the initial account by WSVN, the neighbor’s timely intervention was integral to the child's survival.
