An Arizona man, Michael Johnson, aged 73, has been found alive after being lost in the wilderness of Walnut Canyon area for three days, an ordeal that ended on August 30 when a Department of Public Safety helicopter located him, as reported by 12News. Johnson, who was last seen leaving a residence in Overgaard on August 27 in an off-road vehicle, was discovered in critical condition a mile north of where his vehicle was found.

According to a statement obtained by ABC15, Christy Day, a close family friend, expressed awe over Johnson's survival, noting that "He’s 74 years old, had Parkinson's disease for 20 years, had been off his medication for three days, and lost his glasses." Despite these overwhelming obstacles, Johnson managed to take shelter in his car during storms and started fires at night to fend off the cold.

“It was very scary but so relieved that he was alive," Day said. “The lord’s hand was in this, 100 percent,” as per 12News. Friends of the Johnson family have organized an online fundraiser to help with Johnson's medical expenses.
