Tragedy struck yesterday in San Marcos with the death of an 80-year-old woman in a solo vehicle crash. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred in the 500 block of San Marcos Boulevard just after 3:00 AM.
Arriving at the crash site, first responders from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station discovered an overturned Honda sedan. Inside, the elderly driver was found and pronounced dead at the scene, though her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Deputies are in the midst of an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
