American Airlines has announced the inception of nonstop flights between Miami and Bimini in the Bahamas, set to launch on February 14. The new route will offer flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and will utilize Embraer 175 aircraft featuring premium cabin seating options for travelers, as reported by WSVN.

Providing a direct link to the sandy shores of Bimini, the new service aims to not only satisfy beach enthusiasts but also entice adventurers with activities including world-class fishing and snorkeling. In a statement American Airlines released and which was later detailed by their newsroom, this flight is "emblematic of American’s network that gives customers the most ways to relax on the beach or feel the rush of an exciting vacation getaway."

The addition of Bimini as a destination now marks American Airlines’ seventh locale in the Bahamas. This winter will see over 30 daily flights at their peak to the Bahamas from American Airlines, marking them as the airline with the most flights to the islands from a U.S. carrier. The airline’s monopoly on nonstop service to Bimini also extends to Governor’s Harbour and Freeport, with added flights during the holiday season to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera.

American has been bolstering their presence at Miami International Airport, their hub for 35 years. The airline is currently scheduling a record-setting number of over 430 peak daily departures this winter from Miami. Moreover, they recently have announced to construct a new Flagship® lounge at MIA, as well as an expansion of their Admirals Club® lounge, which promises to more than double the available lounge space for travelers.

Tickets for the Miami-Bimini route are already available for purchase, as the airline continues to strengthen its network, including recent flight announcements to destinations such as Milan and Sarasota, Florida. The service will not only allow travelers to connect through Miami from more than 80 destinations in the U.S. and Canada but also easily access both the North and South Bimini islands for a potentially memorable vacation.
