Avondale has made a move to enhance its emergency medical services by teaming up with Maricopa Ambulance for 9-1-1 transport services. The partnership is set to kick off on September 7, 2025, marking a new chapter in the city's commitment to responsive health care aid. The decision came after a competitive bidding process, with Maricopa Ambulance shown to be the best fit for Avondale's needs.

Currently, Avondale Fire and Medical Department operates five stations and is typically first on scene for a vast array of emergency calls. Over eight out of every ten calls they answer are medical emergencies. Now, Maricopa Ambulance will seamlessly provide the necessary patient transport services, allowing to quickly and effectively connect care with those in dire need. Michelle Angle, Vice President of Operations for Maricopa Ambulance, told the City of Avondale, "We look forward to working closely with the city and Avondale Fire and Medical to ensure residents receive the best possible emergency medical care", emphasizing the care and dedication that will underline their joint efforts.

The new partnership promises to uphold the increasing demands of a growing community, ensuring that the emergency services framework keeps pace. Avondale is a city on the rise, witnessing a surge in its population and by extension, its healthcare requirements. This collaboration between the Avondale Fire and Medical Department and Maricopa Ambulance aims to rise up to these evolving needs.

Assistant Fire and Medical Chief Justin Ernst underscored the envisioned success of the collaboration, expecting to significantly bolster their emergency medical transport response. "This new partnership with Maricopa Ambulance reinforces the City of Avondale’s commitment to providing exceptional emergency medical services" he said to the City of Avondale.
