The pursuit started when Illinois State Police troopers spotted the hijacked vehicle around 1:15 a.m. near West Ogden Avenue and West Polk Avenue. Attempts to stop the vehicle resulted in a pursuit, during which three individuals allegedly exited the vehicle and fled on foot, according to reports from WGN-TV.
As the chase ensued, the stolen vehicle collided head-on with a CPD squad car at the intersection of West Madison Street and North Pulaski Road in the Garfield Park neighborhood.
