As the holiday season inches closer, the City of Clarksville and Riverview Cemetery are calling on the community to support the annual remembrance initiative, Wreaths Across America. This year marks the sixth consecutive involvement for Riverview Cemetery, aiming to honor the 350-plus veterans interred within this historic resting place, according to the City of Clarksville.
Wreaths Across America Day, a national event, takes place across more than 4500 cemeteries both in the United States and abroad. In a showing of community spirit and respect, local residents alongside active and former military members are welcome to partake in this commemorative event, which is open to the public at no cost. However, there's still a gap to fill—over 350 wreaths are needed to ensure each veteran's grave is adorned, as reported by the City of Clarksville.
In a move to fulfill this need, the cemetery invites those who wish to sponsor a wreath for a veteran's final resting place to click here. Wreaths come with a price tag of $17 each. Yet, for every two wreaths bought, a third will be donated as part of the offer, essentially increasing the reach of each contribution.
