A Coral Springs man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a minor in Palm Beach County, as confirmed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). Mohammad Chehade, age 20, faced the law last Wednesday, according to WPBF, with an allegation that strikes a nerve in any community, given the reported age of the victim being between 12 and 18 years old.
Chehade didn't spend long behind bars; records reveal that he was released the following day on a bond of $75,000, raising questions about whether the amount reasonably ensures the safety of the public and the minor involved. In a post on Instagram, the FDLE praised the coordinated efforts that led to the arrest, stating, "When FDLE task force officers from @pbcountysheriff needed to find Mohammad Chehade for child sexual assault, FDLE Miami agents took to the task and worked alongside PBSO in finding him."
