
Authorities investigate the death of a 10-year-old boy who sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head last night. According to the WSMV, the incident occurred in the Burns area and is being looked into by the Dickson County Sheriff's Office, who initially considered the shooting to be accidental.
Following the shot, first responders promptly transported the young boy to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead. The Dickson County Sheriff's Office conveyed to News 2, that they believe the tragedy was an accident, however an investigation is actively piecing together the circumstances leading up to the event, as reported by WKRN.
Information surrounding the situation remains scant; no details have been publicly shared regarding how the child came into contact with the firearm, or who may have been present at the scene. As reported by FOX 17, deputies quickly responded to the home after the incident was reported, yet no further details are available, at this time.
