Residents of El Paso have a fresh spot for recreation and leisure, as the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department has announced the completion of significant improvements at Modesto Gomez Park. In a social media post, the department has invited the public to celebrate the newly completed Phase One upgrades with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, September 4, at 10 AM.
According to the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department, the first phase represents a $1.7 million investment that has brought substantial enhancements to the park. Attendees of the event at Modesto Gomez Park, located at 4600 Edna, can expect to see two renovated diamond fields complete with new lighting, alongside a new walking trail, and facilities that are now ADA-accessible. These developments promise to improve the quality of life and health for the community members who frequent the park.
This event symbolizes more than just the opening of an improved public space; it marks progress toward an ongoing commitment to revitalizing local parks. El Paso residents can look forward to continued enhancements with Phase Two, which promises to deliver even more amenities and upgrades to further enrich the community's outdoor experience.
