A tragic car accident in Boca Raton has resulted in the death of an elderly New York woman and left two others with serious injuries. Yesterday afternoon, at the intersection of Yamato Road and Lakeridge Boulevard, two vehicles collided. CBS12 reported that the woman, identified as 84-year-old Marina Villalobos of Ridgewood, NY, was a passenger in a Hyundai that was turning left when it was struck by an eastbound Toyota.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office detailed that the accident occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m. when the driver of the Hyundai, attempting a left turn into the intersection, entered the path of an oncoming Toyota. The event left the Hyundai's passenger side corner crushed and ultimately resulted in Villalobos' fatality. All three people involved were quickly transported to Delray Community Hospital, where Villalobos was pronounced dead, not long after arriving, as per information obtained by Boca News Now.

The driver of the Hyundai has been identified as Miguel Ulloa, also a resident of Boca Raton. Despite the grave outcome, authorities indicated no charges have immediately been filed as the investigation remains ongoing. The condition of the two injured parties, both of whom are also receiving care at Delray Medical Center, has been described as serious.

Traffic disruptions continued well into the evening as the investigation team worked the scene. For now, the Sheriff's Office has not provided further details, but they confirm that an in-depth probe into the circumstances of the collision is actively progressing. "The driver of the Sonata turned left, into the path of the Corolla," the Sheriff's Office reported, according to Boca News Now.
