
In an effort to enhance traffic safety, the City of Fort Lauderdale has announced new curb installations along SW 5th Place, set to begin on September 23. Ensuring the well-being of Riverside Park residents, this project focuses on maintaining a clear shoulder, boosting visibility, and creating safer roads for all commuters. The city's information was provided on its official website.
The construction, confined to the north shoulder of SW 5th Place, promises minimal disruption in the neighborhood stretches between SW 18th Avenue and SW 19th Terrace, it's slated for completion within the same week of its initiation, with crews working from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, although this schedule is subject to shifts due to weather or unforeseen conditions, as stated on the city's news release.
City officials say construction in the area will not affect neighborhood traffic. They thanked residents for their patience and said the project’s main goal is to improve public safety. The city aims to complete work as quickly as possible and encourages residents to stay flexible and contact project representatives MacKendy Philippi and Kristin Thompson, or the customer service center, with any questions via phone or email.
