The Franklin Police Department has announced via a social media post that six seasoned law enforcement officials have been sworn in as their latest police officers, each bringing previous experience from various agencies across the country. These officers completed an eight-week intensive training program combining classroom learning and practical, hands-on experience.
The new officers, as mentioned in the official Franklin Police Department post, include Jacob Neri, Laine Petre, Carl Schildt, Brandon Shirley, Joel Walters, and David Wimmer. The group is now set to quickly begin their field training right in Franklin, ready to serve the community they've been sworn to protect. This cohort hails from agencies in Tennessee, New York, and Minnesota and is part of the largest recruit class FPD has seen to date.

"Congratulations to: Jacob Neri, Laine Petre, Carl Schildt, Brandon Shirley, Joel Walters, and David Wimmer," heralded the Franklin Police Department's social media announcement, acknowledging the commitment and potential found within each officer. This sense of pride was evident in the commendation for the recruits who now step forward into the reality of Franklin's streets and neighborhoods.
Not all of the prep work is done, however, as the Franklin Police Department's announcement also indicated that remaining recruits are scheduled to soon proceed to the police academy. Come next month, these individuals will continue to rigorously work to join their comrades in safeguarding the city's residents, a testament to the ongoing growth and strengthening of the law enforcement body that watches over Franklin.
