Ballet Arizona will host its free “Ballet Under the Stars” event at Glendale’s Sahuaro Ranch Park on September 25. The outdoor performance is designed to bring the community together and make ballet accessible to all, offering an evening of dance under the early autumn sky.
Pre-show activities begin at 5:00 p.m., including live music, games, and food vendors offering burgers and desserts. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the performance comfortably. Chris Taylor, Arts and Culture Administrator, told City of Glendale, "Some of the greatest stories ever told will be encapsulated in one evening, providing an eclectic mix of performances that everyone can enjoy."
The initiative is part of Ballet Arizona's mission to broaden the reach of ballet throughout the state, making this classical art form accessible to all. Glendale's own commitments are solidified through the event, aimed at upgrading the city's arts and cultural scene. Glendale's residents and visitors are welcomed, regardless of age or background, to bond over the unifying power of live dance in a relaxed setting, as per the City of Glendale.
"Ballet Under the Stars is a fun, family-friendly event," Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers expressed. "And the best part, is that it’s free for our community. As the summer heat breaks, there’s no better time to enjoy this world-class performance right here in Glendale. I strongly encourage everyone to come experience it," he commented on the event, as stated by the City of Glendale.
