A Herriman High School student, identified as Carson, is currently in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in a residential area under construction in Herriman, as per ABC4. The incident occurred on Friday night after Carson and his friends left a high school football game. He was later airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

According to KSL, Carson is showing signs of improvement. A family member relayed that he sustained extensive injuries, including a broken jaw, orbital bone, and collarbone, in addition to requiring 50 staples for a scalp wound. After being weaned off a respirator, Carson has reportedly become more responsive. "We really don't know how long he'll be in the (intensive-care unit) ... It's going to be a long road with rehabilitation," Carson’s family member stated. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help cover mounting medical expenses.

In testament to the community's spirit, two teenagers at the scene provided first aid before paramedics arrived, an action that may have saved Carson's life. "My son’s head was open wide, and they applied pressure to stop the bleeding. I believe he could’ve bled out," Carson's father, Demond, told KUTV. He also expressed gratitude for the extraordinary support of the community and the professionalism displayed by the staff at Primary Children's Hospital.
