
Knox County schools will receive more than $271,000 for safety improvements through the Secured School Safety Grant Program. This funding is part of a statewide $27 million investment benefiting 494 schools across Indiana. The program is supported by Reps. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) and Matt Hostettler (R-Patoka) and is now managed under the Department of Homeland Security, as per the Indiana House Republicans.
Flaget Elementary School will receive $78,625, North Knox School Corp. $46,250, Rivet Middle & High School $21,043, South Knox School Corp. $33,300, and Vincennes Community School Corp. $92,500. The grants may be used to support resource officers, improve security technology, and establish student-parent support programs.
