According to a Facebook post by the La Vergne Police Department, the incident transpired on August 28, when officers were dispatched to the scene at 5001 Murfreesboro Road after receiving a 911 call about an armed robbery in progress.
Multiple individuals were detained as officers arrived around 11:55 p.m., their investigation indicated the situation centered on an attempted firearm sale going awry—the suspect allegedly drew a handgun with the ambition to seize another gun involved in the transaction, this led to police securing both weapons and apprehending the individual. No physical injuries were reported during the encounter, thanks to the swift action of both the victim who dialed 911 and the responding officers.
The unnamed suspect now faces charges of Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault, as confirmed by the La Vergne Police, and has been booked at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
