The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a National Seat Check Saturday event on September 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at LaPlace. The event is part of a nationwide effort to help parents correctly install child safety seats to reduce the risk of injury during vehicle collisions.
According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, certified safety seat technicians will provide free professional guidance and distribute a limited number of safety seats to families in need. Pre-registration is required to participate.
The event is part of ongoing traffic safety initiatives to ensure child passengers are properly secured. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to register in advance to receive individualized assistance from technicians.
