The alarming scenes unfolded when, according to CBS News Miami, a call was placed to police regarding a man making threats to "blow something up," while in possession of the concerning luggage. The suspect was swiftly detained by responding officers, and although streets were closed for safety, these have since been reopened to the public. However, as of now, Miami police have remained tight-lipped on the specifics of any charges the man might face.
Additional confirmation came through video footage showcasing the bomb squad's response to the reported threat. NBC Miami reported that the incident began around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, with police detaining the individual on the scene and the bomb squad meticulously examining the suitcase presented as evidence.
While the investigation has continued, authorities have yet to find any explosives and have not disclosed the detained man's identity.
