Commuters in East Baton Rouge Parish should expect minor delays as roadwork begins tomorrow evening . The two inside lanes of both US 61 Northbound and Southbound will be closed to replace a damaged attenuator, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).
The closure will start at 9:00 p.m. tomorrow and is expected to end by 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to pay attention to road signs and worker directions for safety.
Drivers who use US 61 during these hours are encouraged to allow extra travel time or seek alternate routes. The department will set up signage and traffic control measures to guide vehicles through or around the construction zone.
