Drivers on U.S. Route 50 over Vetter Lane will see a traffic shift starting on Monday evening next week. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), traffic will be rerouted onto the westbound bridge currently under rehabilitation, placing eastbound and westbound lanes into a head-to-head configuration with one lane each direction. This arrangement is expected to remain through November.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays, especially during peak hours. Vetter Lane and the Clark Avenue ramp to eastbound U.S. Route 50 will remain closed during construction. Width restrictions will be 12 feet, and speed limits are reduced for safety.
This work is part of a larger project contracted to E & C Bridge, LLC to repair and overlay 11 bridges and remove one. Construction schedules may shift due to weather. The entire project is scheduled for completion on December 1, 2026. Drivers are asked to follow signage, reduce speed, and move over when workers are present.
